NOTES: |
Sabbath, June 11, 2011 - "The Word
Became Flesh{
1. Joh
1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God.
2. Joh
1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full
of grace and truth.
3. Heb
10:5
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou
wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
4. Rom
1:3
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the
flesh;
What
is the word “flesh” in scripture?
strong’s
G4561 Σάρξ

sarx
Probably
from the base of G4563;
flesh (as stripped of the skin), that is, (strictly) the
meat of an animal (as food), or (by extension) the body (as
opposed to the soul (or spirit), or as the symbol of what is external, or as
the means of kindred, or (by implication) human nature
(with its frailties (physically or morally) and passions), or (specifically)
a human being (as such): - carnal (-ly, + -ly minded), flesh
([-ly]).

This
is
the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the
likeness of God made he him;
Gen
5:1
6. For
what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God
sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh: Rom
8:3
Adam
came in the likeness of God, and Jesus came in the likeness of sinful
flesh.
I
believe of only two times did the word flesh not mean sinful flesh in the
New Testament excluding the book of
Revelation. In Romans 14:21, & 1Cor 8:13 We will see in Strong’s
Greek (G2907)
G2907
κρέας
kreas kreh'-as
Perhaps
a primary word; (butcher’s) meat: - flesh.
7. But
when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a
woman, made under the law,
To
redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Gal
4:4-5
8. Heb
2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than
the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour;
that he by the grace of God should taste death for every
man.
9. 1Pe
2:21-22 For even hereunto were ye
called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye
should follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither
was guile found in his mouth:
10. 1Jn
2:2 And he is the
propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole
world.
What
about after His resurrection? Was He (Jesus) still a man, or a
Spirit?
11. 1Ti
2:5 For
there
is one
God, and one mediator between God and men, the man
Christ
Jesus;
12. Luk
24:39
Behold
my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a
spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me
have.
13. Joh
2:19-21
Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy
this temple, and in three days I will raise it
up.
20
Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt
thou rear it up in three days? 21
But he spake of the temple of his body.
14. Eph
5:30
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his
bones.
15. Joh
1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth.
16. 17
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received
the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be
called:
Heb 11:17-18
Abraham
had a son prior to Isaac named Ishmael.
17.
For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh
3:16
18. Act
3:25
Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our
fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the
kindreds of the earth be blessed.
19. Heb
2:14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also
himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy
him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
20. Heb
2:16-17 For
verily he took not on him
the nature of
angels; but he (Jesus) took on him
the seed of Abraham. 17
Wherefore in all things it behoved ( necessary) him to be made like unto
his
brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things
pertaining
to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
21. Heb
4:15
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we
are, yet
without sin.
22. Php
2:5 Let this mind be in you,
which was also in Christ Jesus: Php
2:6 Who,
being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Php
2:7 But made
himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made
in the likeness of men: Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and
became obedient unto death, even the death of the
cross.
23.
Was
Jesus emotional as we are when we suffer the loss of a loved
one?
24. Joh
11:35
Jesus wept. Joh
11:36
Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
25. Gal
4:4
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a
woman, made under the law,
26. 1Jn
4:2-3
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ
is come in the flesh is of God:
3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the
flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit
of
antichrist,
whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the
world.
G5463
= God speed
Χαίρω chairō khah'ee-ro A
primary verb; to be full of “cheer”, that is, calmly happy or well
off; impersonal especially as a salutation (on meeting or parting), be
well: - farewell, be glad, God speed, greeting, hail, joy (-fully),
rejoice.
27.
2Co
6:14
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
28. 2Co
6:17-18
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and
touch not the unclean thing;
and I will receive you, 18
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the
Lord Almighty.
29. Isa
8:20
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word,
it
is
because there
is
no light in them.
What
does Paul say the Gospel is?
30.
1Co
15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto
you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto
you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that
Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according
to the scriptures:
31. Gal
1:6-9
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace
of Christ unto another
gospel: 7
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the
gospel of Christ. 8 But
though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that
which we have preached unto you, let
him be accursed. 9
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man
preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
